I spent most of the day listening, and talking to, professor Lennart Harnefors during his lecture in control of voltage-source converters and (later) the controls of HVDC Light applications. The following statement is freely cited off his lecture:

”It is lucky for one to be an engineer of VSC (Voltage Source Converters), because it doesn’t matter if you are controlling an  AC motor of less than a kV or, say and HVDC Light plant of 1GW, you still use the same control algorithms. You can hardly use the same algorithms for a jumbo jet as you do for a propeller plane. It is very beautiful.”
